U10 Squirt Major – Big Thaw Tournament Champions

The Nashville Jr. Predators Squirt Major team recently participated in the Big Thaw Tournament in Ann Arbor, MI.

After defeating the Columbus Capitals 6-3 and the Grand Rapids Blades 3-2, the Jr. Predators faced their toughest game against the Midland Northstars. The team had the honor of playing at Yost Arena, home of the University of Michigan Wolveries hockey team, but had a tough 3-1 loss against the Northstars.

The next morning, the Jr. Predators once again faced the Northstars in the championship game. The Northstars went up 1-0 early in the 1st. However, the Jr. Predators scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Northstars 4-1 to clinch the Big Thaw championship.

Jr. Predators goalie, Calvin Gardner, was named championship game team MVP by the referees.
